Bedding on a Budget

A simple way to switch up your bedding all year long is to start with a very neutral duvet cover or comforter, neutral bedskirt (if you need one) and a neutral headboard/bed frame. Choose a white, ivory, tan, brown, black or grey colored comforter with little to no pattern. Then you can easily pair it with different throw pillows, blankets and quilts. You don't need that many different pillows and blankets, just switch up what you pair them with to create a different look and save some money. A quilt or pillow cover that is reversible is a bonus with two patterns in one. Look for accent pillows with removable covers so they are easy to switch up (only pay for new covers) and take up less space with less inserts.

WINTER

Start with a cozy fleece blanket, then add a fluffy neutral duvet across the whole bed and top it off with some faux fur blankets. The standard sleeping pillows are tucked behind two euro sized pillows with faux sheepskin covers and then a 20" velvet accent pillow.

Green foliage and a stack of books warm up this bedside table. (The 'table' I created by simply taping a pretty tray onto a storage bin.)

Start with a patterned quilt, add the neutral duvet, then top it off with a cozy/colorful throw. The standard sleeping pillows are tucked behind two 24" pillows with a cotton paisley cover and then a textured pink 20'' accent pillow front and center.

Start with a bright and colorful patchwork quilt and just add on one solid blanket for a relaxed look. The white sleeping pillows are behind two 20" green velvet pillows with one 20" pink textured pillow in front as the accent.

A small succulent on top of a stack of books and a glass of ice water on a bedside table will have you ready for the heat.

Start with a cozy fleece under the fluffy duvet and add a colorful quilt on top for just the right amount of warmth. The standard pillows are tucked behind two 24" patterned pillows in a warm green tone and one 20" green accent pillow in the front.

A harvest spice candle with leaves in it combined with a mug of warm tea on this bedside table emmulates fall and invites you to cozy up in bed.
